The Blacksmiths at work

“I need a hoe,” Sharyn said.  “So we will stop by to see the blacksmiths.”

These men, who do hot work in the heat, are a major part of the traditional social structure of this people group.

Sharyn ordered the hoe, and they said to wait, it would be done soon.

We marvelled at the muscles and accuracy of the young men who pounded the red hot metal into the right shapes. Young boys pumped the bellows to keep fires hot.  They turn out simple tools for the local market.

This is what the blacksmith "shop" looks like from the outside!
